On Saturday, October 3, 2026, Mentally United joined Denver Parks & Recreation, Risk Taker World Wide, and local families for the Trunk or Treat Fall Festival at La Alma Recreation Center in Denver, Colorado. The free community event brought together people of all ages for an afternoon of Halloween festivities, live performances, food, and community connection.

As a community resource vendor, Mentally United distributed hundreds of free mental health resources, connecting with attendees and raising awareness about emotional well-being, stress management, and accessible mental health support.

A Celebration of Community, Creativity, and Connection

From barbecue and popsicles to Halloween costume contests and games organized by Denver Parks & Recreation, the festival offered plenty for families to enjoy. Children even had the opportunity to explore a Denver fire truck and take photos inside it.

Natasha Barshalom of Risk Taker World Wide hosted the afternoon's entertainment, featuring performances by Shmoody, She Who Won't Be Named, Four Generations, Elijah Set Apart, and several audience members.

Why Community Matters for Mental Health

At Mentally United, we believe mental health awareness belongs beyond traditional healthcare settings. Community events like Trunk or Treat create opportunities for people to connect, build relationships, and experience a sense of belonging, all of which contribute to emotional well-being.

While the festival was centered around Halloween fun, it also highlighted something meaningful: supporting mental health doesn't always begin with a formal conversation. Sometimes, it begins with simply bringing people together.

We're grateful to Denver Parks & Recreation, La Alma Recreation Center, Natasha Barshalom, Risk Taker World Wide, and every performer, volunteer, and family who made the afternoon possible. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and helped us continue bringing mental health education and resources into our local communities.

We look forward to participating in more community events and mental health awareness initiatives across Colorado.
