Mentally United Inc. proudly announces its upcoming feature documentary, Psychedelics: A Journey, set to release in Summer 2026. The film traces the evolution of psychedelic science, from its ancient spiritual roots and cultural suppression to its re-emergence as one of the most promising frontiers in modern mental health, research, and healing.

Filmed at the Psychedelic Science 2025 Conference in Denver, Colorado, the documentary captures a pivotal moment in history, bringing together over 22 voices - researchers, clinicians, veterans, advocates, and practitioners - each sharing raw, thoughtful insights on the future of psychedelics and their impact on mental well-being.

Directed by Muhammad Zeeshan, Executive Produced by Naomi Tegybelu and Muhammad Zeeshan, Psychedelics: A Journey interlaces lived experiences, expert perspectives, ethical questions, and practical reflections to present a comprehensive, human-centered look at psychedelic healing.

“Our goal with this documentary was to explore the full spectrum - the history, the science, the ethical dilemmas, the lived experiences, and the future of psychedelics for mental well-being,” said Director and Executive Producer Muhammad Zeeshan. “This experience reminded us how powerful open dialogue can be. We hope this film sparks curiosity, reduces stigma, and invites people to view healing through a more human and compassionate lens.”

The film features interviews and insights from leading voices including Jonathan Dickinson & Trevor Millar (Ambio Life Science), Charles Lazarus & Kevin Bourke (Rose Hill Life Sciences), Dr. Melina Bricker, Dr. Suraiya Rehman, Dr. Alya Ahmad, Veterans Mark Keller and Abion Dorhosti, and others across research, clinical practice, and advocacy.

Psychedelics: A Journey serves as both a cultural reflection and an educational resource, taking viewers inside the evolving world of psychedelic research and practice today. The film captures lived experiences, current practices, and stories of transformation, while examining the need for ethical and safe use, and the role psychedelics are playing in addressing the growing mental health crisis.

We’re deeply thankful to our production team - Naomi Tegybelu, Katherine Martinez, Taylor Marie, Muhammad Zeeshan, and Tanishq Ahire -  for their creativity, commitment, and ongoing dedication as Psychedelics: A Journey moves through post-production and comes to life.
