Denver Colfax Marathon: Running Together, Healing Together

This year’s Denver Colfax Marathon brought together more than 30,000 runners, supporters, and volunteers in the heart of Colorado’s capital, and Mentally United was proud to be part of it.

As an official Community Partner, our nonprofit showed up with one goal: to make mental health visible, accessible, and embraced by everyone who passed through City Park’s Community Village.

💚 What We Brought to the Marathon

At our booth, we invited the public to pause, reflect, and engage with mental wellness, right in the middle of one of Denver’s biggest, most high-energy events. Over the course of the day, we:

  • Distributed over 3,000 free mental health resources, including emotional wellness fidgets, support tools, affirmations, and educational materials for both children and adults.

  • We raised over $600 in donations, funds that will directly support our upcoming resource drives, podcast production, and public outreach.

  • Connected with hundreds of community members through real, open conversations about anxiety, stress, burnout, and healing.

Thanks to the generosity of the community and the spirit of the day, we raised over $600 in donations funds that will directly support our upcoming resource drives, podcast production, and public outreach. More importantly, we connected. We listened. We showed up for people who may not have expected to see mental health support at a marathon and that surprise turned into relief, recognition, and solidarity.

🏆 Awarded $2,500 Through the Runners Roost Nonprofit Challenge

One of the most meaningful moments came when Mentally United was selected as a recipient of the Runners Roost Relay Reward, a community award that gifted us $2,500 through the efforts of runners who chose to race in support of our cause.

It wasn’t just a financial boost, it was a powerful affirmation of our mission: that healing, connection, and emotional wellness belong in public spaces, not just behind closed doors.

To the Denver Colfax Marathon team, thank you for giving nonprofits a platform, for investing in the work of community healing, and for creating an event where purpose and movement go hand in hand.

And to every person who stopped by, picked up a resource, made a donation, or simply said, “Thank you for being here” you reminded us of the importance of work we are doing in the community. So please take care of yourself, keep smiling, and like always STAY UNITED!!!
